First-year program Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia) is in the semifinals of the state championships, and the program is riding ESPN 150 running back David Williams to an undefeated season.
Colleges are coming through Philadelphia daily to meet with Williams, and Arizona State, Miami (Fla.), Penn State and South Carolina have all either come by the school or will be visiting this week, Williams said.
Penn State running backs coach Charles London met with Williams on Tuesday at the school and also had a chance to speak with his mother.
The Nittany Lions, once among the favorites for Williams, are confident they will get an official visit from the country's No. 13 running back. Williams, however, said he will not schedule any more official visits until after the season, which could end either this coming Saturday or the following Saturday, Dec. 15. At that point, Williams will once again put the focus on his recruitment.
Arizona State hosted Williams for an official visit in September, and he planned a visit to Tennessee the weekend of Nov. 23 but canceled it once Derek Dooley was fired as the Vols' coach.
Williams said previously that South Carolina was his leader.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound running back is the No. 6 player in Pennsylvania.
