Minutemen add three commitments

Cornerback Jackson Porter (Ellicot City, Md./Mount Hebron), defensive end Jullian Taylor (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) and tight end Sharif Custis (Philadelphia/St. John Neumann) have pledged to sign with UMass, according to multiple reports.

Porter, a 6-foot, 185-pound senior, chose the Minutemen over a scholarship offer from Elon. Connecticut, Maryland and North Carolina State also showed interest.

The 6-foot-5, 224-pound Taylor was recruited by Rutgers and Temple. He registered an electronically timed 5.18 40-yard dash, 4.78 20-yard shuttle, 28.5-inch vertical and 67.62 SPARQ last spring at a Nike combine.

Custis selected UMass over scholarship offers from Stony Brook and Temple. He's a 6-foot-3, 197-pound talent who posted some impressive measureables this oast offseason on the Nike circuit, including a 4.63 40-yard dash, 4.50 20-yard shuttle, 25.7-inch vertical and 88.86 SPARQ.

The Minutemen have 16 verbals for 2013.
