It was relatively quiet in the Midwest this weekend, especially when compared to the crazy few days that followed the Thanksgiving holiday a little more than a week ago. There were few official visits and few commitments, though, so here is a look back at the weekend that was in the Midwest.

  • ESPN 150 receiver Laquon Treadwell took his first official visit, and Ole Miss was the beneficiary of visit No. 1. It was the third visit to Ole Miss for Treadwell, who has a former teammate in Oxford. A sleeper team at the beginning of Treadwell's recruitment, the Rebels are in the top three and could be the team to beat. This one could come down to the Rebels and Oklahoma, which he will visit in a few weeks.
  • Recent Michigan decommitment and ESPN 150 cornerback Gareon Conley plans to officially visit both Ohio State and the Wolverines this month. He will make it to Ohio State this coming weekend, and there is a chance he commits on the visit. If not, he has a visit to Michigan planned for Dec. 14, although WolverineNation writer Tom VanHaaren reported that it might have to be rescheduled because of a basketball game.
  • Two Illinois-based programs each added a couple of commitments over the weekend. Northwestern first got a commitment from Tommy Fuessel, who was previously committed to Northern Illinois. On Sunday, Marcus McShepard committed as expected. The Illini also added two commitments, going to the juco ranks for Abens Cajuste and Eric Finney.
