COPPERAS COVE, Texas – Tyler Middleton (Corsicana, Texas/Navarro College) has been clocked in the 40-yard dash in 4.32 seconds. Ironically, those numbers represent the area code for his hometown of Midland, Texas.

On Saturday, the speedy running back made Midland, Navarro and the schools recruiting him very happy. Middleton rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries to help a 30-23 win against Georgia Military College in the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl. For his efforts, he was named the game’s most valuable player.

“This was a shocking experience,” Middleton said. “I was kind of nervous at the end, but I knew we could pull through if we just played as a team. I wasn’t expecting the MVP, though.”
