High three-star running back Berkley Edwards (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) committed Thursday to play in the Big Ten for Minnesota, according to multiple reports.
California was the only over BCS conference program to offer the 5-foot-9, 190-pound senior. He made an official visit to Iowa for the weekend of Oct. 19 but did not receive an offer from the Hawkeyes.
Edwards fielded most of his attention from Mid-American Conference schools such as Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Toledo and Western Michigan, all of which extended scholarship offers.
