WR Jester Weah sees Colorado State, Pitt

11/27/2012

Madison (Wis.) Memorial receiver Jester Weah has three teams standing out to him, and he saw two of them up close over the last few days.

Weah took an unofficial visit to Pittsburgh on Saturday and said everything went really well. Weah watched Pittsburgh defeat a ranked Rutgers team.

"I like how their offense played, and the stadium is real big and the fans there are real nice," Weah said.

Pitt coach Paul Chryst and several assistants, including area recruiter Joe Rudolph, all spoke with Weah while on the visit. Although the Panthers sent an offer to another receiver, Clairton (Pa.)'s Terrish Webb, the morning of Weah's visit, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver still believes an offer will be coming.

"I can feel it coming soon, I just don't know when. Coach Rudolph said they speak high of me there and they like me," Weah said. "Coach Rudolph called [Sunday] talking about how excited they were to see me there and want to get me back up with my mom."

Colorado State assistant coach Derek Frazier made an in-home visit to Weah on Monday. The Rams are his favorite among the schools that have offered; Pitt and Wisconsin, which have not offered, are at the top.

Frazier sat down with Weah, his mother and his little brother, and Weah set an official visit for this weekend. He originally set it for this weekend, but it was temporarily rescheduled before confirming it for Friday while Frazier was visiting.

During the conversation, Frazier explained to Weah how first-year coach Jim McElwain came over from Alabama following last season and coached eventual top-10 pick Julio Jones. Frazier said the staff sees Weah as Colorado State's version of Jones.

"That really stood out to me," Weah said.

Frazier and Weah also discussed the academics and program's facilities.

"He talked to me about everything they have to offer and how great of a place it is to go play football," Weah said. "He talked about the academic portion and how they're going to be building a new stadium, new weight room and a lot of new stuff.

"I like where they're going for the future, and I just can't wait to go out there and see how it is."
