Mat Boesen (Torrance, Calif./West) and his teammates didn't take the easy way to the CIF championship game on Saturday night. After a 5-0 start, the Warriors dropped their first three conference games, including a 47-14 defeat at the hands of Palos Verdes (Calif.)--the team they'll be matching up against in the finals.
But West has already avenged one loss this season, as they took out Manhattan Beach (Calif.) Mira Costa in the second round of the playoffs, during a 5-game winning streak.
Off the field, things have been fairly calm for Boesen since his verbal commitment to Boise State in late June. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound athlete has been to the Broncos' campus on three different occasions, with two unofficial visits and an official trip last month.
