Oklahoma State landed its first junior college prospect of the 2013 recruiting class early Sunday evening, as offensive tackle Brandon Garrett (Athens, Texas/Trinity Valley Community College) gave the Cowboys his verbal pledge.

A 6-foot-6, 285-pound tackle, Garrett took an official visit to Oklahoma State over the weekend and was one of the 55,341 in attendance to watch the Cowboys rout Texas Tech 59-21. Garrett chose Oklahoma State over offers from North Texas, Old Dominion, UTSA and Louisiana-Lafayette. Garrett also received interest from South Florida, Washington State and TCU.

“It feels great. It’s a relief,” said Garrett, who played at Deer Park High School in the greater Houston area before attending Trinity Valley. “I came to juco to mature and put my time in. It feels great to know it got put to good use.”
