ESPN 300 cornerback Johnny Johnson (Fresno, Calif./Central) was at the Los Angeles Coliseum for last year's meeting between UCLA and USC that ended in a 50-0 victory for the Trojans. This year marked a different venue, different coaching matchup and a much different outcome, as Johnson was again on hand for the rivalry game.
It was Johnson's first time visiting the Rose Bowl, and the nation's No. 189 recruit came away from the visit impressed but still very rational in his approach to the recruiting process.
"I don't want to make a change based off one win," Johnson said via text message. "If they would have lost, the atmosphere would have been different. But I was impressed with the scheme on both sides of the ball and the difference from last year's team, because I was there when they got beat 50-0."
Johnson has a top three of Stanford, UCLA and Washington, and he again maintained that there is no order to that group. He said he will take an official visit to UCLA after the season but doesn't have plans for any other trips, though he added additional visits could be scheduled at a later date.
