Three-star outside linebacker Jimmie Gilbert (College Station, Texas/A&M Consolidated) committed Tuesday to play for Colorado, multiple sources report. He made an official visit during the weekend of Nov. 2 for Colorado's 48-0 loss to Stanford.
Boston College, Iowa State, New Mexico, Purdue and Tulsa also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-5, 201-pound senior. Baylor, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas A&M were among the other programs expressing interest earlier in the process.
ESPN describes him as "a defensive end/outside linebacker 'tweener at this stage who will likely move to OLB in college or fill more of a hybrid type role... possesses nice athleticism and in the right fit with some development could end up reaching a high ceiling... needs to keep developing physically and as a player so he can better maximize his natural tools."
