For a couple of weeks now, the recruiting process has been strong for junior college defensive lineman Quincy Russell (Athens, Texas/Trinity Valley Community College). The San Antonio native has been a major target for several schools all season, but his focus wasn’t on recruiting until the conclusion of Trinity Valley’s season.
Over the weekend, Russell took his second official visit, taking in the scenery of Lincoln, Neb., and watching Nebraska defeat Penn State in come-from-behind fashion. The 6-foot-4, 304-pound defensive tackle, who has visited the Nebraska campus twice, gave the visit high marks and said Nebraska is one of the schools very high on his list.
“It was a 10, but I knew it was going to be a 10,” Russell said of the visit. “I don’t plan on taking visits where it’s not going to be a 10 or more. If that was the case, I would just stay at home.
