Only 13 of California's top 50 prospects remain uncommitted, but by the end of the month, Cameron Walker (Los Angeles/Loyola) could shrink that number by one.
By the end of the week, Walker, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback, will have narrowed his choices to a top 3 and taken official visits to all of his finalists. California and Boise State received trips on the first two weekends in October, while Wisconsin will receive his final trip.
"I want to see what Madison is like," Walker said. "I want to see the campus and the city."
Walker's interest in Wisconsin picked up as soon as a scholarship offer was extended.
"That's when I started to look into them and watch the way they play," Walker said. "I'm legitimately interested in them."
He said all three of his finalists possess a terrific combination of academics, coaching staffs and athletics, which could make it a difficult decision. But he added that he hopes to turn the announcement of his decision into an even more memorable occasion.
"Ideally, it'd be cool to announce it at Thanksgiving dinner," he said. "We'll have all our family in town and I want to be able to let everyone in my family know."
