WR Josh Taylor's stock is rising

11/8/2012

There were times this year when wide receiver Josh Taylor (Los Angeles, Calif./Franklin) served as a one-man team. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound senior finished the regular season with 26 carries for 144 yards and three touchdowns, 37 receptions for 584 yards and nine touchdowns, and seven kickoff returns for 356 yards and three more scores.

Word got around early in the season, as New Mexico State, San Diego State and UNLV extended offers. Recently, Colorado State made it four scholarship offers for Taylor, but that could be just the beginning for the dynamic athlete.

"I'm working on my film so I can get it out there," Taylor said. "That's where I am with Utah now. They're talking about offering, but they want to see film. Once I get my highlight together, I could be looking at more offers."

Another hurdle that Taylor is close to clearing is the SAT. He plans to take the test on Dec. 1, which could mean more schools entering the picture.

"Coach [Eric] Yarber at UCLA wants my scores," Taylor said. "He said they're going to offer me and Coach [Jim] Mora is talking about offering when I get my scores back, which would be in late December or January."

Meanwhile, Taylor will explore his options. He will take an unofficial visit to San Diego State this weekend in order to meet with head coach Rocky Long. He also has two official visits scheduled -- to UNLV on Jan. 11 and New Mexico State on Jan. 18.
