A junior college kicker is getting major college interest. Fulton (Miss.) Itawamba freshman Tyler Jackson has seen recent interest from BYU and Ole Miss, according to his head coach, Jon Williams.
Jackson, who is a Mormon, could end up being a good fit for BYU if the school decides to sign a kicker in the 2014 class. However, he's also a native of Oxford, Miss., so Ole Miss would figure to be a strong player in his recruitment if they opt to offer Jackson a scholarship.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Jackson has made 9 of 11 field goals. His longest is 47 yards. He has converted 25 of 26 extra points. The only miss was blocked. Jackson was named all-conference as a freshman. He won two games for Itawamba Community College in the last minute of the game.
