Senior Diante Cherry (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) has committed to become a Fighting Blue Hen and play in the Football Championship Subdivision, PennLive.com reports.

Fordham, Robert Morris and Towson also extended scholarship offers to Cherry. Other schools including Maryland, North Carolina State, Old Dominion, Penn State and Pittsburgh showed interest.

Cherry earned all-state recognition last fall after catching 65 passes for 1,003 yards and 10 touchdowns during the regular season. Entering last Friday night's contest, he had 32 receptions for 632 yards and 7 scores.

The 5-foot-10, 167-pound talent also stars on the hardwood, where he's a 1,000 point scorer.
