Florida State has firmly entered their name into the Jeremy Kerr (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg) sweepstakes.
The Seminoles offered the Miami (Fla.) tight end commitment just last week and, in all their haste, were able to secure an unofficial visit from the three-star prospect for the Duke game on Saturday.
"I enjoyed it," he said. "It was a great opportunity and I'm glad I saw the game day atmosphere."
It isn't always a certainty that prospects and players get a chance to interact before or after games with all the hustle and bustle of responsibilities. But for Kerr, the coaches definitely wanted to make sure that happened.
An impression needed to be made, especially right on the heels of the new offer.
"I got to talk to them and they just told me that they want me bad and that they want me to take an official," Kerr said.
Kerr remains committed to the Hurricanes, but is likely to setup that official visit to Florida State at some point. As far as the Seminoles' chances go, well, it appears they have increased if even for only just a little bit.
"Well, it didn't hurt," said Kerr. "It's nice to get on campus and meet the coaches."
Kerr committed to Miami back in mid-June.
