Senior Korey Cunningham (Montevallo, Ala.) committed Monday to sign with the Blazers, AL.com reports. He was recruited by UAB tight ends coach Richard Owens.
"I really like being close to home," Cunningham said. "I like coach Owens and coach [Garrick] McGee. He's come in and really change the program. Every time I've made a visit, I've liked what I saw. I look at the future and what all is coming in to help the program get bigger and better."
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound tight end also had scholarship offers from Louisiana-Lafayette, Middle Tennessee, South Alabama and Southern Miss. Auburn, Missouri and Ole Miss showed interest.
Cunningham also plays baseball and basketball in high school.
