PROSPER, Texas -- The setup was perfect. It was homecoming night at Prosper (Texas) High School, and brothers Torii Hunter Jr. and Money Hunter were looking to help their team stay undefeated against a fellow undefeated team in Frisco (Texas) Centennial.
Enhancing the scene was the attendance of the brothers’ father. With baseball season over, Los Angeles Angels outfielder Torii Hunter had the chance to catch his first Prosper game of the season. The Eagles managed to score a 38-36 win against Centennial in a game decided in the final seconds.
How Prosper won with dad in attendance, however, may have been even more of the story. Torii, an ESPN 150 wide receiver who is committed to Notre Dame, and Money, a rising safety with three FBS offers, were most important for their teams on the opposite side of the ball. Torii Jr. made key plays as a cornerback, and Money was huge for Prosper’s offense at wide receiver.
