Poasi Moala has decommitted from Washington and given a verbal commitment to UCLA, HuskyNation confirmed Saturday.
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound offensive lineman (Moreno Valley, Calif./Rancho Verde) was one of seven players who committed to the Huskies June 29 during the program’s Rising Stars Camp.
With the three-star recruit flipping to the Bruins, Washington has three offensive linemen -- Dane Crane (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./Santa Margarita), Sean Harlow (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente) and Andrew Kirkland (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) -- currently committed to its 2013 class.
Moala’s change of heart hasn’t changed the mind of teammate Damore’ea Stringfellow, who remains committed to the Huskies. And despite Moala’s decision, expect the Huskies to continue recruiting the senior.
There is an interesting recruiting rivalry developing between Washington and UCLA, with the Huskies trying to lure UCLA linebacker commit Myles Jack (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue) away from the Bruins.
