The Notre Dame linebacker class just got even better with the commitment of Doug Randolph (Woodberry Forest, Va.).
While not as explosive and athletic, he has a similar game as top ranked outside linebacker Jaylon Smith (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Luers) as he possesses the strength to stack the run downhill from normal linebacker depth with frame and up-field quickness to slide up on the line and create pressure off the edge. Smith does have the advantage in coverage and it’s an area that Randolph will need to improve before making an impact in South Bend.
