Mississippi State picked up its 17th Class of 2013 pledge Wednesday with a commitment from Jake Thomas (Columbus, Miss.), multiple sources report.
The Bulldogs won an in-state battle for Thomas, who also received scholarship offers from Ole Miss and Southern Miss. North Carolina and Stanford were among the other schools recruiting the 6-foot-5, 300-pound three-star prospect.
ESPN says that Thomas possesses, "swing tackle ability; his pass protection production is further advanced than his run blocking skills."
Mississippi State has concentrated on offense during this cycle with at least 12 of their 17 verbals slated to play on that side of the football in Starkville. The Bulldogs also have four offensive lineman committed; all from inside state lines.
