Offensive lineman Dominick Hamilton (Detroit/Cass Tech) has committed to sign with the Zips, multiple sources report. Akron now has five pledges.
Hamilton's other scholarship offers were from Central Michigan and Coastal Carolina. Earlier in the process, Arkansas, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State and Western Michigan recruited the 6-foot-4, 297-pound blocker.
Cass Tech, which routinely sends multiple graduates to FBS programs, already has six rising seniors committed to play at that level. In-state power Michigan landed both Cass Tech ESPN 150 prospects, guard David Dawson and corner Jourdan Lewis. Sleeper three-star safety Delano Hill picked Iowa. Additionally, Three-star defensive tackle Kenton Gibbs is on board with Illinois.
