Scouts: Ryan Green can do it all 

The Seminoles continue to reload at the running back position, and with the pick-up of Ryan Green (St. Petersburg, Fla./Catholic) they enhance their overall team speed and athleticism. Green is one of the top backs in Florida and nationally when you look at what this play-maker can do in all facets of the position. His speed is striking; this young man has the chance to score every time he touches the ball, and that can come in a variety of ways, which will make him such a valuable asset to Jimbo Fisher’s offense in the future.

Green can hit it inside with great feet, cutback vision and acceleration to get through tight seams. While not a pure power guy -- his one real knock -- he has some pop to his frame to break tackles and run inside. Most dangerous when stretching the ball to the perimeter, he has speed to turn the corner and an impressive second gear to separate, which will translate well in ACC play.

What propelled Green’s move up in our last ranking update was the versatility we saw in updated game film. The future Seminole is a talented receiver with good hands, ball skills and separation skills on option routes and up the seam when working out of the slot or backfield. He can cover as well when deployed on defense and is a threat in the return game.

Those are the traits aside from rushing the ball which make this such a significant pick-up. The Seminoles have a stable of young backs with talent already on the roster, but Green should be able to provide a spark with touches in a variety of ways, which makes us believe he will see early playing time. He should be able to line up at different spots and provide a spark with his premium speed, elusiveness and ball skills. An every-down back is not out of question during his career at FSU but feel he will contribute early in more of change-of-pace or multi-purpose type role until he adds the required size and strength to carry the load.
