Two-star tight end Chris Burton (Danville, Va./George Washington) has become the fifth 2013 verbal for North Carolina State, multiple sources report.
East Carolina, Temple, Vanderbilt, Texas Tech and Virginia Military also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-3, 250-pound prospect. Maryland, Nebraska, Virginia and Virginia Tech were the other schools recruiting the nation's No. 32-rated tight end-Y.
“It’s awesome. I feel really relieved that I finished and made it through the process and made the decision before my senior year,” Burton told wsls10.com. “I’ve got a whole senior year to go through with having as much fun as I can without the pressure of deciding where I’m going.”
Burton caught 14 passes for 314 yards and two touchdowns during his junior campaign.
