Wake Forest received big news Wednesday when a Top 100 prospect in Georgia decided he wanted to play for the Demon Deacons. Offensive lineman Cory Helms (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) announced his commitment to Wake Forest while driving home from Winston Salem on Wednesday afternoon.
"I just committed to Wake Forest!" Helms said.
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound interior lineman saw his recruitment heat up during the spring evaluation period, pulling in ten offers in little more than a month. After making visits to Auburn, USF and Wake Forest, Helms knew where he wanted to play at the next level.
