Inside linebacker Nigel Bowden (Macon, Ga./Central) decided Friday to change his commitment from Vanderbilt to Georgia Tech, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

“Coach (Paul) Johnson said ‘If you want to do this [commit to Georgia Tech], we can go ahead and do it. You’ve got your offer.’ I said I wanted to do it. We shook hands, and we made it final.”

Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Mississippi State and Tennessee were among the other programs recruiting Bowden.

He is the sixth 2013 pledge for Georgia Tech. Bowden's grade and evaluation will be released with ESPN's recruiting rankings update next week.
