High three-star quarterback Jeremy Johnson (Montgomery, Ala./Carver) committed Sunday to play for Auburn, the Opelika-Auburn News reports.
Johnson, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound talent, selected the Tigers over scholarship offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Purdue, Arkansas State, Memphis, Houston and Alabama State.
Alabama, Florida State, Louisville and Oklahoma were among the other programs showing interest early in the process.
Johnson completed 62 percent of his passes for 5,087 yards and 48 touchdowns during his sophomore and junior seasons.
Auburn now has nine recruits on board for 2013. All nine players are from Alabama or Georgia.
