Inside linebacker Ford Howell (Memphis, Tenn./University School) has committed to sign as part of North Carolina State's Class of 2013, according to multiple sources.
Western Kentucky and Lehigh also offered the 6-foot-1, 225-pound prospect. Several programs including Stanford, Northwestern, Kentucky, Boston College, Duke, Wake Forest, Memphis, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Louisiana-Lafayette, Mississippi State and Cincinnati showed interest.
University School coach Bobby Alston told the Winston-Salem Journal, "He liked the coaches. He visited over there, and he liked the set-up, and he felt comfortable going to school there and playing there."
Howell registered 60 tackles including three tackles for loss as a junior.
