The weekend proved to be productive for quarterback Skyler Windmiller (Shawnee, Kan./Mill Valley). After flying in from Kansas to Atlanta for Saturday’s Elite 11 regional camp, he and his father drove to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Volunteers’ spring game.

Windmiller, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound junior, didn’t receive the golden ticket to the Elite 11 national event in July, but he said he did receive lots of tutelage in Atlanta that will help him as he prepares for his senior season.

“It was a really good experience. I went to the one at Penn State last year and was kind of overlooked because I was a sophomore, and most of the focus was on the juniors,” Windmiller said. “It was good to go back and get more of the attention from the coaches and be the main focus.
