The recruits keep coming for Notre Dame after a strong Junior Day, as athlete Rashad Kinlaw (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) committed to the Irish on Monday.

"We spoke Saturday night, and I had a feeling maybe it would happen Sunday, but I think he just wanted to take more time to think about it and he did," Dennis Scuderi, Kinlaw's high school coach, said.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Kinlaw was recruited by Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco as a cornerback, a position the Irish are awfully thin at after their only cornerback from the 2012 recruiting class, early enrollee Tee Shepard, left school two weeks ago.

"I think he was just overwhelmed by the whole experience," Scuderi said of Kinlaw. "Notre Dame is a completely different place in terms of history and then you look at the school and it's constantly being on national TV, and when you add it all together it's pretty appealing."

Kinlaw also ran the spread offense for Scuderi as Absegami's quarterback but broke his fibula in Week 5, forcing him to miss the rest of the season. He is the fifth junior to commit to the Irish since Saturday, joining ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback Malik Zaire (Kettering, Ohio/Archbishop Alter) and Watch List offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey (Philadelphia/William Penn) -- who committed Sunday -- offensive tackles Colin McGovern (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) and Hunter Bivin (Owensboro, Ky./Apollo), the latter a Watch List member as well.

Notre Dame entered the weekend with three verbal commitments from the 2013 class but now has eight. Watch List tight end Jacob Matuska (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley,) athlete James Onwualu (Saint Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham) and Watch List offensive tackle Steve Elmer (Midland, Mich./Midland) are the Irish's other commitments.
