ESPNU 150 Watch List cornerback Brian Walker (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) has given his commitment to the in-state Tar Heels, according to multiple sources.
Auburn, Minnesota, Ole Miss, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Virginia and South Carolina also extended scholarship offers to the 5-foot-10, 175-pound junior. Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Alabama, Purdue and Tennessee were among the other programs showing interest.
Walker posted some impressive combine figures prior to his junior year including a 4.65 40-yard dash and 30.4-inch vertical.
He's the second pledge this week for North Carolina joining another defensive back, safety Donnie Miles (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett). The Tar Heels have six recruits on board for 2013.
