The Utes have received a verbal commitment from Hawaiian D-lineman Pasoni Tasini (Wailuku, Hawaii/Baldwin), who has just two years of football playing experience, multiple sources report.

Tasini was named the Maui News Athlete of the Year in 2010-11, as he starred in football, basketball, track and volleyball.

His high school defensive line coach Kawika Kahui told the Desert News that he Tasini's best football is ahead of him:

"The kid has unlimited potential. If you look at just his physique, he is really big, really quick, really agile. He is obviously good at it (football), but watch him play volleyball, basketball and all that. Then, you will see what kind of athlete this kid is."
