New Irish commit receives tweet from actor

C.J. Sanders is having a pretty exciting week for a high school kid. The four-star receiver committed to Notre Dame on Tuesday, then received a tweet from actor Jamie Foxx on Wednesday.

Sanders was in the movie "Ray" alongside Foxx in 2004, and got a shout-out from the actor to all 3.78 million of Foxx's Twitter followers.

While his football career is just getting started, Sanders has already had more than nine years experience as an actor. According to, Sanders has made appearances in multiple television shows, including "Grey’s Anatomy" and "Cold Case," along with a few movies.

He joins a surprisingly lengthy list of actors who played football in their younger days, including Foxx, Burt Reynolds, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Tommy Lee Jones, among others.

Foxx was a solid athlete in high school, but he was never a coveted recruit like Sanders.
