NC State was expecting to hear a decision from three-star Brock Ruble (Hyattsville, Md./DeMatha Catholic) on Friday and hoped for a commitment. Good news came early in the way of Kentavius Street, though, an ESPN 300 prospect out of Greenville (N.C.) J.H. Rose.
Street announced his commitment Friday afternoon on Twitter.
Im officially committed to NC State University!!! #Pack14 #Wolfpacknation!!!

With the Wolfpack barely holding on to a top-40 recruiting class, first-year coach Dave Doeren needed to add at least one special piece before signing day to keep NC State within the rankings. He got that with Street, the No. 32 prospect nationally.
NC State’s class, which now has 26 commitments, had been stagnant after Doeren got off to a strong start to the 2014 cycle in Raleigh. Only two players had committed to NC State since November, however, and the Wolfpack are coming off a 3-9 campaign and a winless season in ACC play. With momentum from a strong start to the class stalled by the subpar season, Street provides a boost the NC State surely could use in the next two months leading up to signing day.
