Jackets snag Florida offensive lineman

September, 23, 2013
Paul Johnson's triple-option attack picked up an offensive lineman out of Florida on Monday in Gary Brown (Tampa, Fla./Alonso).

At 6-foot-1, 285 pounds, Brown is likely headed to the interior of the Yellow Jackets' offensive line. Guards in the Georgia Tech offense, of course, are important because of the different roles they execute, whether creating holes for the fullback or pulling on traps.

Brown just returned from his official visit to Atlanta over the weekend, and after talking and thinking it over, decided to make his commitment. He took only one other official visit prior to this weekend, that being a trip to Indiana to see the Hoosiers.

Besides Georgia Tech and Indiana, Brown had offers from Cincinnati, FIU, Iowa State, Kentucky, Marshall, Maryland, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Missouri, N.C. State, Nebraska, Ohio, Purdue, USF and Tulane.

Brown makes 18 commitments for Georgia Tech's 2014 recruiting class and the fourth commitment out of Florida.
