Defensive end Rori Blair (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair) is set to play for Pittsburgh, according to the Post-Gazette.

He was originally a 2013 prospect with offers from the Panthers, West Virgina and Kent State. However, in April 2012, Blair suffered a stroke and nearly died from complications. He missed all of last season, but was granted another year of eligibility by the WPIAL and reclassified.

"Pitt did a great job recruiting him," Upper St. Clair coach Jim Render told the Post-Gazette. "They've checked on his medical records, watched him at their camp this summer and didn't hesitate to recruit him."

"I expect him to have a great year this season," Render said. "It was an unfortunate situation what happened to him. I think it made everyone grow up a little. I learned a lot and I think he has learned a lot."

The Panthers now have 17 pledges.
