Mizzou lands in-state tackle Sam Bailey

July, 25, 2013
Offensive tackle Sam Bailey (Lamar, Mo./Lamar) has committed to play for the Missouri Tigers, the Joplin Globe reports. Army also extended a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-5, 250-pound rising senior. Kansas State and Tulsa, among others, expressed interest.

Sam's twin brother, Ben, is also a Class of 2014 prospect. Ben, a taller, thinner 6-foot-6, 230-pound two-way lineman, holds the Army offer but has not received one from Missouri.

"I'd hate to be on the other side of it," Sam said. "I know he's happy for me, but I know it's got to be tough. I don't ever want to rub it in his face. I feel for him. I wish I could do something to change it."

The twins are both state champions in the discus and play for Lamar's basketball team.

Missouri has 16 commitments for 2014.
