Defensive tackle Michael Barwick (Cincinnati/Summit Country Day) has become the Indiana Hoosiers' first Class of 2014 commitment, multiple sources report. He was recruited by Indiana run game coordinator/offensive line coach Greg Frey.

Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Hampton, Kent State, Toledo and Western Michigan also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-1, 290-pound prospect.

Indiana is Barwick's only BCS conference offer at this time, but other programs, including Cincinnati, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Purdue, West Virginia and Wisconsin, expressed some interest.

He'll be included as part of ESPN RecruitingNation's next rankings update.
