Athlete Bryson Gates (Fairfield, Texas/Fairfield) has become Colorado State's first Class of 2014 verbal, the Coloradoan reports.

Gates plays safety, inside and outside linebacker, wide receiver and running back for Fairfield. Even his coach, John Bachtel, is unsure of Gates' future landing spot: "To be honest, I don't know what position he'll be best at."

The Rams are his only scholarship offer at this time, but TCU was showing interest in the 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect.
