TCU scored a big defensive piece to its 2014 class on Sunday with a player capable of being a dominant defensive lineman in the Big 12.
Defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson (Longview, Texas/Longview) confirmed that he verbally committed to TCU following a junior-day appearance in Fort Worth, Texas. The 6-foot-1, 275-pound lineman became TCU’s third commit of the 2014 class.
Henderson chose TCU over offers from Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, SMU and, most recently, Ole Miss. He was an all-state defender as a junior.
Henderson joins wide receiver Emanuel Porter (Dallas/Lincoln) and cornerback Nick Foster (Fort Worth, Texas/Keller Fossil Ridge) in TCU’s 2014 recruiting class. Henderson finished his junior season with 48 tackles and two sacks and helped Longview to a 9-4 season and a trip to the Texas Class 5A Division II Region II semifinals.
