Senior linebacker Darren Hambrick (Brooksville, Fla./Hernando) committed Saturday to play for Missouri, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
“I should have done it a long time ago,” the 6-foot-1, 218-pound Hambrick said. “I like the team. I like the program.”
Bethune-Cookman, Kent State, UMass, South Alabama, Tennessee State and Western Kentucky also extended scholarship offers to Hambrick. Appalachian State and South Florida were among the other schools showing interest.
He earned all-conference recognition as a junior after recording 81 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
Hambrick registered a 4.98 40-yard dash, 4.62 20-yard shuttle, 28.1-inch vertical and 65.97 SPARQ this spring on the Nike Combine circuit.
The Tigers have 16 pledges.
