Senior defensive back Bryant Gross (Plantation, Fla./American Heritage) has committed to play in the Big East for Rutgers, multiple sources report.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect is graded as a three-star prospect and the nation's No. 65-rated safety by ESPN, which describes Gross as a player who, "has some upside and potential scheme versatility if a program is patient in his development."
Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Georgia State, Hawaii, LSU, Marshall, Memphis, Purdue, Tennessee State, Tulane, Utah State and Western Michigan also extended scholarship offers to Gross. Miami-FL showed interest.
Prior to his junior year, Gross posted a 4.71 40-yard dash, 4.68 20-yard shuttle and 31.1-inch vertical on the combine circuit.
Gross is the 16th verbal for Rutgers and first from a true safety prospect.
