Iowa picked up a key in-state commitment with a verbal from four-star tight end Jon Wisnieski (West Des Moines, Iowa/Dowling). It was not only big for the Hawkeyes to keep a good player at home, but the top-10 TE is also a good fit. He needs to keep filling out his frame, but displays the tools to develop into a good, well-rounded tight end.
Iowa has shown they will throw to their tight ends and this kid shows that he can be a productive receiving target. He needs to keep improving aspects of his game such as his release and route-running, but he comes across as a tough kid with good hands and body control who runs well and is willing to take a hit to make the grab. Improved size and strength are needed, but he could also help aid the Iowa run game as he can get hands on and play with good pad level and shows he is not afraid to get after it.
