Koppenhaver announced his decision on Twitter and the news was confirmed by multiple sources:

Colgate, Iowa State, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, UNLV and Yale were his other scholarship offers. Delaware, Stanford, UCLA and Virginia also recruited the 6-foot-5, 209-pound, three-star prospect.

Duke has 14 commitments in this recruiting cycle.

Beavers get DE Shane Bowman

July, 28, 2013
Class of 2014 prospect Shane Bowman (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue) is on board with Oregon State, according to multiple reports.

Montana, Montana State, Nevada, Northern Colorado and UNLV also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-3, 231-pound defensive end. Arizona State, Boise State, UCLA, Washington and Washington State showed interest.

"I called coach [Mike] Riley and told him I felt that OSU was the perfect fit," he told the Northwest Elite Index.

Bowman is the sixth 2014 pledge for the Beavers, who currently hold one of the smallest classes among BCS schools.
LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. -- At one point in his recruitment, athlete Jaleel Wadood (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco) was committed to Arizona State. Now the Sun Devils find themselves outside of his top three, only days before the four-star prospect makes his commitment announcement at The Opening.

Wadood has narrowed his list to UCLA, USC and Cal over offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon, Utah, Vanderbilt and Washington among others.

June, 1, 2013
The Wolf Pack landed their first pledge for 2014 on Friday from quarterback Hunter Fralick (Sparks, Nev./Spanish Springs), according to the Reno Gazette-Journal reports.

Offensive coordinator Nick Rolovich led Nevada's pursuit of Fralick. Northern Colorado, San Diego State and UNLV also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-1, 194-pound signal-caller.

Last fall, Fralick completed 211 of 340 attempts (62.1 percent) for 2,889 yards and 22 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions while also rushing for 289 yards and 6 more scores. As a sophomore, he tallied 2,063 yards through the air, 235 yards on the ground, 15 touchdown passes and 2 rushing touchdowns.

March, 14, 2013
When you have the bloodlines of defensive back J.R. Reed (Plano, Texas/Prestonwood Christian), everybody expects great things from you. Reed is the son of former Minnesota Vikings standout receiver Jake Reed, who had nearly 7,000 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns for his 12-year career.

LOS ANGELES -- The Nike Football Training Camp circuit kicked off Sunday with a stellar group of prospects converging at Redondo Union High School for the opportunity to earn a coveted invite to The Opening this summer. And while the spotlight shined on several highly regarded Class of 2014 athletes, there were glimpses of what looks to be a strong 2015 group on the West Coast.

A weekend of firsts for Harris Ross

March, 5, 2013
Before this past weekend, Harris Ross (Pittsburg, Calif./Pittsburg) had never participated in a 7-on-7 tournament or toured a college campus. But the 5-foot-11, 195-pound tailback crossed both items off his list with a trip to Las Vegas, for the NLA 7-on-7 tournament.

Ross not only took part, he helped his AIGA team to the title, as he caught a number of passes out of the backfield and picked up yards on the ground.

Calif. QB Lawson ready to aim, fire

February, 27, 2013
JaJuan Lawson (Petaluma, Calif./Casa Grande) knows he isn't the kind of recruit who makes a statement just by walking onto a campus and standing in front of a coach. The 6-foot, 176-pound quarterback understands it is going to take terrific performances at spring and summer camps in order to convince college coaches to go all in on a smaller quarterback. And that's just fine with him.

"A lot of teams are worried about my height and I get that," Lawson said. "Everyone is looking for that pro-style guy, but I have to show them I can sling the rock. They want to know if I can throw the ball at a Division-I level, and I feel I'm capable of that."

Texas RB Keith Whitely makes decision

January, 20, 2013
The 2012 football season didn't have the ending that La Porte (Texas) High School running back Keith Whitely envisioned.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound 2013 running back didn't get to see an ounce of the Texas state high school playoffs because of a season-ending knee injury suffered in his team's regular season finale.

Pingi Moli joins UNLV's mid-year haul

January, 14, 2013
Mt. San Antonio College (Walnut, Calif.) defensive end Pingi Moli has signed with UNLV, becoming the fifth 2013 mid-year addition for the Rebels, according to a release issued by the school's official website.

"Having Pingi here for the spring will be a great help," head coach Bobby Hauck said. "We expect him to immediately add experience and maturity to our defensive line. Last year, we lost three of our top five defensive linemen before the season began so we're going to ensure that doesn't happen again."

This fall, the 6-foot-3, 260-pound Moli recorded 22 tackles, three sacks, and 1 fumble recovery this past season.

Moli joins fellow Mt. San Antonio defensive lineman Asten Koki, who signed with UNLV in December.
