This weekend, Vanderbilt picked up a commitment from senior athlete Malik Foreman (Kingsport, Tenn./Dobyns-Bennett). However, four-star safety Malik Greaves (Jacksonville, Fla./Sandalwood) is no longer on board with the Commodores. Both stories have been reported by multiple sources.

Foreman, a 5-foot-10, 164-pounder, selected Vandy over Middle Tennessee, Chattanooga, Furman, Kentucky and Wofford. He officially visited the Blue Raiders for the weekend of Oct. 6th.

He posted impressive combine measureables this spring including an electronically-timed 4.52 40-yard dash, 4.31 20-yard shuttle and 32.8-inch vertical.

South Alabama is not wasting any time in preparing for its entry into the Sun Belt in 2013, as the Jaguars have ramped up recruiting efforts, especially in the Peach State. After picking up athlete Tiquan Lang (Valdosta, Ga./Lowndes) last month, head coach Joey Jones has been on a tear of late, with four commitments in the last week, including the latest in quarterback Taylor Lamb (Calhoun, Ga./Calhoun)

"I committed to South Alabama," Lamb said. "It just fit me and the coaching staff speaks for themselves."

The AA Offensive Player of the Year in 2011, Lamb had 3,640 yards passing and 40 touchdown passes while leading the Yellow Jackets to a 15-0 record and the state championship over four-time defending champion Buford. With offers from Chattanooga, Memphis and Georgia State, in the end, Lamb felt the opportunity at South Alabama was too much to pass up.
