Rising senior athlete Phillipie Motley (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) is on board with the Pittsburgh Panthers, according to multiple reports.

The three-star prospect holds scholarship offers from several Mid-American Conference schools including Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Kent State, Miami (Ohio), Ohio and Toledo.

Conference USA member Marshall, formerly in the MAC, also offered. BCS programs Boston College and West Virginia showed interest in the 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect.

He's commitment No. 16 for Pittsburgh.

Syracuse continues to build with Bennett

Linebacker Parris Bennett (Detroit/Jesuit) has given his commitment to the Syracuse Orange, according to multiple reports.

The 6-foot, 205-pound defender also received scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Syracuse has six pledges for 2014 from six different states: Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.

LB Colton Moskal picks Syracuse

Colton Moskal (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich), who will be included as part of Monday's ESPN RecruitingNation rankings update, has committed to Syracuse, according to media reports.

He also received scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Toledo, Western Michigan, Wyoming and Yale.

Cornell, Duke, Illinois, Iowa, Penn State and Stanford expressed interest in the 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect.

Syracuse has four commitments.

Illinois secures LB Austin Roberts

Class of 2014 inside linebacker Austin Roberts (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) committed Thursday to sign with the Illini, multiple sources report.

Roberts was heavily recruited by non-BCS, FCS and Ivy League schools. Air Force, Army, Central Michigan, Columbia, Harvard, Illinois State, North Dakota State, Pennsylvania, South Dakota State, Wyoming and Yale extended offers to the 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect.

He registered 152 total tackles, seven sacks and an interception during his junior campaign.

Illinois now has six pledges.

NC State gains first offensive lineman

The North Carolina State Wolfpack received a commitment from offensive guard Eric Shute (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West), multiple sources report.

Akron, Arkansas, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, Syracuse, Toledo, Virginia Tech and Western Michigan also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-4, 275-pound prospect.

Shute, along with the remaining ungraded Wolfpack pledges, will be part of ESPN RecruitingNation's next rankings update.

NC State has nine commitments.

This week, the Broncos picked up commitments 11 and 12 for the Class of 2014. According to multiple sources, Jacari Faulkner (Detroit/University of Detroit Jesuit) and Trevahn Beery (Creston, Ohio/Norwayne) are both on board.

Faulkner's a 6-foot-2, 242-pound defensive end whose registered a 4.35 20-yard shuttle, 27-inch vertical and 32-foot power throw at a combine this offseason. Western Michigan topped in-state rival Central Michigan for his pledge.

Buffalo also extended a scholarship offer to Beery. Akron, Illinois, Louisville and Toledo recruited the 6-0, 163-pound defensive back. He's posted a 4.74 40-yard dash, 4.59 20-yard shuttle, 31.7-inch vertical, 30-foot power throw and 65.1 SPARQ on the Nike circuit.

The Broncos' class is headlined by four-star quarterback Chance Stewart (Sturgis, Mich./Sturgis).

Outside linebacker Malik Fountain (Olympia Fields, Ill./Rich Central) has committed to sign with Central Michigan, multiple sources reports.

North Dakota also extended a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect.

The Chippewas, who recently picked up defensive lineman Jimmy McCarthy (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and offensive lineman Hunter Lassitter (Portage, Mich./Central), now have 10 players on board for 2014.

Defensive tackle Jimmy McCarthy (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) has committed to sign with Central Michigan, multiple sources report.

"I felt like I belonged. All the coahces and players made me feel like they are a part of something there," he told the Indianapolis Star. "It was a family atmosphere."

Central Michigan was the first school to offer McCarthy, but Ball State, Iowa and Michigan State expressed some interest.

The Chippewas now have eight pledges for 2014.

Zachary Oakley (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) and Amari Coleman (New Lothrop, Mich./New Lothrop) are Central Michigan's latest commitments, multiple sources report.

Oakley, a 6-foot, 189-pound dual-threat quarterback, decided on Thursday. He was also recruited by Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green and Northern Illinois. Oakley displayed his athleticism at a Nike Combine registering an electronically timed 4.76 40-yard dash, 4.53 20-yard shuttle, 32.8-inch vertical and 80.25 SPARQ.

Coleman ended the recruiting process earlier this month. Akron, Ball State, Minnesota and Wisconsin expressed interest in the 5-foot-10, 175-pound cornerback.

Central Michigan has seven verbals.

TE Sokol accepts offer from Michigan State

Matt Sokol (Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams), a 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect, committed Monday to sign with Michigan State, according to multiple sources. He lines up at quarterback for Adams, but is expected to play tight end for the Spartans.

Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin also extended scholarship offers to the Class of 2014 prospect.

Sokol is commitment No. 7 for the Spartans.

Alex Neering (Essexville, Mich./Garber), a 6-foot-7, 230-pound defensive end, committed to play in the Mid-American Conference for Central Michigan, according to multiple sources.

Neering announced his decision on Twitter:

 

 

He posted impressive combine figures this spring on the Nike circuit, including an electronically-timed 5.10 40-yard dash, 4.66 20-yard shuttle, 28.2-inch vertical, 39-foot power throw and 78.15 SPARQ.

Central Michigan has five players on board for 2014, including three defensive linemen.

Offensive guard Connor Hayes (Traverse City, Mich./West) has become Pittsburgh's first pledge during this recruiting cycle, multiple sources report.

He selected the Panthers over scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Duke, Indiana, Syracuse, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin also showed interest in the 6-foot-4, 270-pound prospect.

ESPN calls Hayes, who will be included during the next rankings update, "a developmental prospect with good size and toughness; some time and a redshirt year will be needed to improve his athleticism and technical skills."

David Basirico (Macomb, Mich./Dakota), Jonathan Carson (Milwaukee/Messmer) and Nathan Mitogo (Santa Clarita, Calif./College of the Canyons) are on board with Central Michigan, according to sources.

Basirico is a 6-foot, 175-pound safety who also received a scholarship offer from Ohio and interest from Eastern Michigan and Michigan State.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Carson, a defensive end, posted impressive combine figures last offseason including an electronically-timed 5.02 40-yard dash, 4.58 20-yard shuttle, 29.6-inch vertical and 80.19 Nike SPARQ.
