The 6-foot-2, 190-pound pocket passer added his sixth offer Monday when Western Michigan became the latest school to tender a scholarship. The Broncos join Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Kent State and Toledo.
“I’m excited and really like their coaching staff and looking forward to getting to WMU,” he said.
Duckworth has made several visits over the last few weeks, and his latest was to Toledo over the weekend for its junior day. While the Rockets had several prospects on campus, Duckworth was able to find time to sit down with coach Matt Campbell.
“He just said he wants me more than anybody else and they all tell me out of all the offers they sent that I’m their No. 1 guy,” Duckworth said. “I’m smart enough to know they probably said that to other recruits, but as far as contact and showing interest, they do the most out of any team.”
Duckworth said he does not have any favorites, but Ball State and Cincinnati are two teams showing new interest.
The Bearcats hired Steve Clinkscale from Illinois, a school that is also recruiting Duckworth. He said Clinkscale made immediate contact with him after getting to Cincinnati and asked him to come down for the Bearcats’ junior day this Saturday.
