Carrington Crutcher looking for an offer

By Brad Bournival

Carrington Crutcher (Evansville, Ind./Bosse) has the interest, now he’s looking for the offer.

The 5-foot-9, 193-pound running back has interest from Ball State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska and Tennessee, but it’s the Illini that really has the junior's attention.

“I went up there for their junior day and met with coach [Tim] Beckman,” Crutcher said. “He said he really likes me.

“It was real nice. They have a nice academic program. I really like their sports management. It’s just great all around.”

The other school pulling major interest for Crutcher is Tennessee.

“I haven’t talked to coach [Butch] Jones directly, but I’ll be going to their spring game. I’m going to let everything play out.”

Last season, Crutcher led the Bulldogs with 969 yards rushing and nine touchdowns.

“I really want to play running back, but I’m open to the slot position,” he said. “Right now, my body is built for the slot well, but I’m willing to play anywhere.”
