Three OSU commits each fill 2014 needs
By Brad Bournival
Ohio State coach Urban Meyer comes into the 2014 recruiting season knowing he wants to shore up an offensive line he missed out on in 2013.
As always, he wants more defensive linemen.
He also wants a speed running back to add to his spread offense.
Check, check and check.
Kyle Trout is one of three in-state pledges out of the five so far for Ohio State in the 2014 class.
In a whirlwind hour on Sunday for the Buckeyes, Meyer grabbed commitments from players who fit all three categories when Watch List offensive tackle Kyle Trout (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster), defensive end Lawrence Marshall (Southfield, Mich./Southfield) and running back Parris Campbell Jr. (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) gave their pledge to the Buckeyes.
In Trout, Ohio State began to shore up what Ohio State viewed as a weakness in 2013.
The 6-foot-5, 254-pound Trout joins Marcelys Jones (Cleveland/Glenville) on the offensive front for 2014 and will complement 2013 signees Evan Lisle (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) and Tim Gardner (Indianapolis/Lawrence Central).
