Buckeyes pick up running back for 2014

Urban Meyer had to be impressed by Parris Campbell Jr. (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) during the his team's 42-21 Division III state championship victory.
Now, the junior is a member of the 2014 recruiting class for Ohio State.
“It means everything to be a Buckeye!” Campbell said in a text message to BuckeyeNation. “Just to know that I’m a part of something special. I’ve been an Ohio State fan since I was kid. It’s always been a dream to go there. ”
Meyer and a handful of coaches were on hand for Campbell’s state championship game, and they were also there to watch ESPN Watch List junior Dante Booker play linebacker.
Then the 6-foot, 180-pound Campbell took over in a game many soon won’t forget.
A track star as well -- he was part of two state champion sprint relays for St. Vincent-St. Mary -- Campbell chose the Buckeyes over offers from Indiana, Michigan State and Tennessee and interest from Akron, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Northwestern and Penn State.
“I’m very happy with my decision,” Campbell said.
Campbell rushed for 1,286 yards as a junior and scored 28 touchdowns.
